Welcome to Tasneef AI. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Tasneef AI Google Docs™ add-on (“the Add-on”).

By using the Add-on, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our services, the Add-on interacts with certain data. We limit the collection of data to only what is necessary for the Add-on to function.

  • Google Account Information: We utilize basic, anonymized identifiers provided by Google Apps Script to manage daily search quotas (e.g., your daily AI search limit) and save your personal preferences (e.g., translation toggles, insertion formats). We do not collect or store your name or email address in any external database.
  • Search Queries: When you use the “AI Search” or “Exact Search” features, the text of your query is processed to retrieve relevant results.
  • Google Document Interaction: The Add-on requires permission to interact with the active Google Document. The Add-on only writes (inserts) text into your document. It does not read, scan, or analyze the existing contents of your document.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to operate and maintain the Add-on:

  • To process your search queries and return relevant Quranic verses and translations.
  • To insert the verses you select directly into your active Google Doc.
  • To store your user preferences and manage daily usage limits locally within your Google account’s hidden properties.
  • To ensure the technical functionality and security of the Add-on.

3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Tasneef AI utilizes third-party artificial intelligence and database services to power its semantic search capabilities.

  • Search Queries: When you perform an AI Search, the text of your search query is sent securely to third-party providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to classify your intent and generate search embeddings. Your queries are also cross-referenced with a secure vector database (Pinecone) to find the most relevant verses.
  • No Document Content Shared: We never send the contents of your Google Document to these third-party services. Only the search terms you explicitly type into the Add-on’s sidebar are transmitted.
  • No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or search data to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Tasneef AI does not maintain external servers to store user data.

  • Your user preferences and daily search quotas are stored securely within Google’s infrastructure using Google Apps Script PropertiesService (specifically, User Properties). This data is tied to your Google account and is not accessible to other users.
  • Data transmitted between the Add-on and third-party APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Pinecone) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.

5. Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure

Tasneef AI’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

  • We do not use your data to serve advertisements.
  • We only request the minimum Google Workspace permissions (OAuth scopes) required to operate the Add-on.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy and publishing the revised version. Continued use of the Add-on after any such changes constitutes your consent to the updated policy.
